Robert’s Story…

Robert was a man of science. He grew-up in Edgartown, MA on the island of Martha’s Vineyard where he achieved high remarks in school and looked-up to the likes of Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla. The advancements of radio and technology grabbed his attention and at a young age he became an armature radio operator. Radio waves and frequencies remained an important aspect of Robert’s life and shortly after graduating from high school he joined the United States Air Force and became a Korean War Veteran. After the war he pursued fulfilling work at the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Kennedy Air Force Station on Cape Canaveral where he found himself at the center of the space race during an era that helped shaped the infinite capacity of man and altered the course of human history. The Apollo and Gemini Missions as well as the infamous Lunar Landing remained vivid highlights of both his personal pride and professional career.

Following his years at Cape Canaveral, Robert moved to Ascension Island in the South Atlantic Ocean where he continued his career in science and technology where he assisted efforts in satellite and communication telemetry. His skills helped pioneer advancements in telephone communications where he eventually retired from BellSouth Telecommunications in 2005.

Robert is survived by his four children, Allison Mundry, Rob, Ashley and Miles Look, and his 8 grandchildren. He will be missed dearly, especially his quick wit and endless charm. He also claimed to be the inventor of “shorts”. May he rest in peace.
